Spider Plant (Chlorophytum)

Despite the creepy-crawly name, spider plant is among the most popular and easiest to grow in pots or in ground. A mature plant will form tight rosette or arching leaves with a profusion of hanging plantlets on long stems. They come in a number of varieties, from pure green leaves to leaves with green and white stripes.

While these are exceptionally hardy plants and will survive in less than perfect conditions, in perfect conditions they are just stunning. Upon maturity they bloom with small white flowers which produce new plantlets which can be potted up once mature. They survive in most indirect light conditions and require less watering.
